Bollywood actress Riya Chakraborty has been indicted on drug charges along with the late actor Shashant Singh Rajput.
According to Indian media reports, actress Riya Chakraborty has been accused by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) of allegedly buying illicit items for actor Shashant Singh Rajput and promoting drug addiction.
Shant Singh Rajput was found dead at his residence on June 14, 2020. The NCB has framed a total of 38 charges against 35 accused in the drug case linked to his death.
According to reports, the draft chargesheet handed over to the special court under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act details the charges against each accused.
The draft for Risha Chakraborty, the then girlfriend of Shashant Singh Rajput, states that Riya Chakraborty received many deliveries of cannabis which she handed over to Shashant Singh Rajput.
The draft chargesheet states that Riya Chakraborty has committed such an offense under the NDPS Act.
The draft charges against all 35 defendants in the case generally state that they all engaged in criminal conspiracy to buy, sell and distribute drugs together or in groups between March 2020 and December 2020.
It should be noted that Riya Chakraborty and her brother were also arrested in 2020 on charges of aiding and abetting Sushant Singh Rajput in drug use and causing his death. Was abandoned.
